BOOK CLUB

Hakima’s Antiracism Book Club can offer numerous benefits for individuals and communities. Please read below for some key advantages.

Book Clubs meet for one hour weekly on Thursday or Friday evenings for one month. Participants must enroll in the book club and purchase and read the book. All book clubs are held online via Zoom.  The Zoom link will be sent after enrollment forms and payment have been received. 

 

Antiracism Book Club / Thursday / 7-8pm CST / June 5, 12, 19, 26 / $75 

My Grandmother's Hands by Resmaa Menakem

This book club is suitable for anyone on a journey to examine and challenge their own internalized racism. We will discuss 6 chapters per meeting

 

Black Fem Book Club  / Friday/ 7-8pm CST / June 6, 13, 20, 27 / $75

Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey

This book club is for those who self-identify as Black/African-American and Fem/female. We will do a deep dive into issues specific to the Black Fem experience. This book is divided into four parts. We will discuss one part each week.
