COLORVISION
COLORVISION: THINKING --- DOING --- BECOMING
COLORVISION is an innovative, interactive, experiential learning system designed to guide participants on a journey toward building awareness of how racism manifests itself in healthcare systems, and an active practice of behavioral change and paradigm shifting to dismantle it. The creator of COLORVISION, Hakima Payne MSN RN, is a scholar and educator
dedicated to transforming healthcare systems by promoting health equity strategies.
COLORVISION is a 10-week intensive workshop of Interaction Circles, followed by 6 monthly virtual Sharing Circles designed not only to educate participants about racism and healthcare but to provide action strategies and space for evaluating progress and measuring successes.
Participants will attend the sessions (online or in-person), do homework assignments, practice behaviors in their work settings and critique their own progress toward their self-defined goals, learn from interactions with their peers, journal, reflect on their own lived experience, and gain empathy for the experiences of others. This experiential learning program is designed to create
a space for transforming workplace culture through a shift in values by the individuals who work there. It is specific to the healthcare environment.
