About the event

Workshop Overview

Facing Racism: My Own and Others is a full-day experiential workshop designed to help participants examine how racism operates within themselves, in their relationships, and within the systems they participate in.

Through guided reflection, facilitated dialogue, and interactive learning, participants will explore racism not only as a societal issue but as a lived and relational experience. Using the Five Levels of Racism framework developed by Hakima Payne—internalized, interpersonal, organizational, structural, and historical—participants will deepen their understanding of how racism functions and how individuals can move toward accountability and action.

This workshop utilizes the practice model of awareness, analysis, accountability, and action, creating a respectful space where participants can confront difficult truths while building tools for more just and equitable engagement in their communities and workplaces.
