Hakima’s Table is a program designed to assist healthcare and educational organizations to navigate the impacts of racial harm. Participants engage in guided reflection, skill-building, and honest dialogue about how racism operates at the individual, interpersonal, and organizational levels.

Grounded in the principles of psychological safety, shared responsibility, and practical action, Hakima’s Table helps teams develop the language, awareness, and communication tools needed to interrupt harm, strengthen workplace culture, and build more equitable systems. The experience is designed for corporate, academic, healthcare, nonprofit, and public sector organizations seeking to transform intention into sustained equity-centered practice.

Hakima’s Table – Organizational Transformation for Health Equity

Organizational Transformation Program

This programming supports healthcare professionals in identifying how racism shows up in maternal healthcare environments. Participants learn practical tools for reducing racial harm, improving equity-centered communication and decision-making, interfacing with community in ways that build trust and examining internal policies, practices and culture that may perpetuate harms.

Time commitment: 10-12 weeks 
(up to 30 participants) 

Retainer and
Advisory Package

The Retainer package is available only to those organizations completing the Corporate consulting program. The Retainer/Advisory Partnership provides organizations with ongoing access to equity expertise, facilitation, and strategic guidance as they work to strengthen antiracism practice and accountability within their workplace culture and systems. Rather than a one-time training, this partnership supports leaders and teams over time as they navigate real challenges, implement new practices, and respond thoughtfully to situations that arise. Monthly trainings for a minimum of 12 months are available and include the following:

  • 1 monthly online training session (90 minutes)

  • 1 monthly leadership debrief, summary or implementation plan (1 hour)

  • 2 hours monthly availability for advisory support

Time commitment: monthly for 12 months

Sentinal Event
Response Package

When a sentinel event or critical incident involving racial harm, patient mistrust, or breakdowns in communication occurs, healthcare teams often need immediate support that prioritizes accountability, staff reflection, and system improvement. Hakima’s Table offers a structured facilitation process to help organizations process the event, address racial dynamics that may have contributed to harm, and identify meaningful steps toward repair and prevention.

 

This service is designed to complement—not replace—existing internal review, compliance, or quality improvement processes and may include:

  • Leadership consultation and planning session

  • Facilitated staff reflection and dialogue session(s)

  • Clinical communication and accountability guidance

  • Identification of contributing cultural and systemic factors

  • Recommendations for practice, communication, or policy improvements

  • Leadership debrief and next-step guidance

Time commitment: 30-90 days

Single Engagement Training

This one-time training engagement offers organizations a facilitated learning experience focused on antiracism practice, workplace communication, and organizational accountability. Participants develop shared language and practical tools for recognizing racial dynamics in professional environments and responding constructively when harm occurs. The session is designed as a standalone educational experience and is often used as an initial step for organizations beginning or strengthening their equity learning initiatives.

  • Live online training and discussion customized to organizational need

Three-Part Training Series

An Exploration of Race and Racism: Awareness, Perception, and Practice

A Three-Part Organizational Learning Series Based on Hakima Payne’s Five Levels of Racism Framework. This course helps organizations move beyond surface-level diversity discussions into deeper awareness, honest community reflection, and practical strategies for change.

 

Participants will explore how racism operates at multiple levels—within individuals, between people, inside organizations, across systems, and through history—and learn how institutions can respond responsibly and effectively.

Deliverables for Organizations

 

At the end of the course, organizations will leave with:

  • A shared framework for understanding racism

  • Increased awareness of internal and external racial dynamics

  • Identification of areas of institutional risk or harm

  • Initial strategies for organizational improvement

  • A roadmap for continuing the work

Executive Coaching Package

The Executive Coaching Package provides senior leaders with a confidential and structured space to strengthen their capacity for equity-centered leadership. Through one-on-one coaching sessions, executives are supported in examining how leadership decisions, communication practices, and organizational dynamics intersect with issues of race, power, and workplace culture.

 

This coaching experience helps leaders develop practical strategies for navigating complex conversations, responding constructively to racial harm, and modeling accountability across teams and departments. The process focuses on real leadership situations, decision-making frameworks, and tools that support stronger communication, trust, and culture-building within organizations and includes the following:

  • Confidential one-on-one coaching sessions with senior leadership

  • Guidance on navigating difficult conversations related to race, equity, and workplace dynamics

  • Coaching on responding to critical incidents or organizational tensions involving race or culture

Time commitment: 2-3 hours per month for six months
